Library Instructions for Teen Tech Week

Today, in the library, in celebration of TEEN TECH WEEK, you have this challenge:

With a partner (preferably from the other English class), you need to write a story.

In the story, two characters, in some setting that you must specify, have some kind of stressful conflict with technology.

They talk about the conflict, figure out a solution, and in the climax, it either works, . . . or it doesn't.

Anyhow, the crucial part is that the story must be created and submitted through "GoAnimate".


(When you're done, hit "save", put your names for the video's name, put gunston as a tag, make it public, and then hit the blue save button. Click through all the rubbish about facebook and when it gives you the chance, email it to me at sophie_luxmoore@apsva.us)

In Class: Vocabulary Plays, read IN TROUBLE from our textbook

Homework:
Monday- Newspaper article and read "In Trouble" which can be found on Blackboard under the "students" tab. It is in Elements of Literature, Second Course if you have not.

Also, remember to read this weekend. The next independent reading book is an autobiography or a biography, so figure out whose life from whom you could learn.

Thursday 1/ 13

Computer lab:
Log into my.hrw.com and click on the link "assignments"
On the next screen change Assignments due from "this week" to "all"
Complete the four assignments

note: immersion students will not be able to do this from home since they do not know their log-ins, if you missed class due to the field trip, please just read the story for homework!

After you are done, write a story on Storybird remember to include all the story elements - setting, characters, conflict, climax, resolution!

Parents: Students all saw their grades on Thursday. They should know what they are and what they did in the computer lab to improve them! So ask and see.
